VW 希望他們的電動車平台在首階段銷售能達 1,000 萬台
褔斯汽車（VW）對於他們的首個電動車平台有著偉大願景，希望能在「首階段」賣出 1,000 萬台利用這模組化電驅矩陣（MEB）的電動車。第一個目標是要在 2020 年前賣出 15 萬台，其中 10 萬台更是將會在德國生產的 I.D. 型號。就如 Tesla 和其他車廠的純電動車，VW 的 MEB 平台也是為了以電驅動為前提設計，其低重心底盤用作擺放扁平、高密度電池，以及將會改善操控性和空間使用。VW 更表示 I.D. 車型只要半小時就可以充進 80% 的電量。
VW 所謂的「首階段」電動車計劃其實也橫跨了數年，所以這 1,000 萬台 MEB 的數字可以算是他們晉身電動車主流品牌的預告。在 2017 年，VW 集團整體賣出了 1,070 萬台汽車，所以他們對於電動車銷售量的預測只算是小數，但也算是他們認真要進入次世代汽車界別的承諾吧。
